Getting Ready for School & Enrolment Info

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Enrolment Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation at a Victorian government primary school, including White Hills Primary School.

The new timeline will apply for children starting Foundation in 2026. All government primary schools will follow the new timeline in 2025 to support Foundation enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You can find information and resources about the new timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation. You can also download the ‘Foundation’ Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers for the 2026 school year’ from the Starting School webpage (available from 15th April 2025).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation 2026 at White Hills Primary School from 15th April 2025.

Application to Enrol in a Victorian Government School

1. Contact our school office to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process
2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (available from 15th April 2025)
3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25th July 2025.
4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 8th August 2025. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22nd August 2025.
5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 29th January 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25th July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

   Tuesday 13th May 2025 Foundation Parent Information Sessions

   • Morning: 9.15 -10.00am
   • Evening: 6.00 – 6.45pm

1. Tuesday 5th August 6.00 -7.00pm

Familiarisation:

Tuesday 4^th & Thursday 6^th November – 12.15 to 1.45pm

(students attend one of these sessions)

Tuesday 18^th & Thursday 20^th November – 12.15 to 1.45pm.

(students attend one of the sessions)

State-wide Orientation Day. All enrolled students attend on this day.

Tuesday 9th December 12.15 -1.45pm

Parents must supply the school with the following items for full enrolment.

1. A complete full (Available from April 15th 2025)  Enrolment Form
2. A certified copy of your child’s birth certificate or the original and the school can take a photocopy of it.
   • Birth Certificates can be ordered from the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages
3. A certified copy of your child’s immunisation certificate or the original and the school can take a photocopy of it
   • Document issued by the Australian Childhood Immunistation Register on completion of their 4 year old vaccine 

Tours are available on request.

As part of the school’s comprehensive transition program, the school’s Foundation transition coordinator will endevour to visit every enrolled student at their kinder during Term 4.
