Getting Ready for School & Enrolment Information

Our School Zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Enrolment Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

2027 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments

The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation at a Victorian government primary school, including White Hills Primary School.

The new timeline will apply for children starting Foundation in 2027. All government primary schools will follow the new timeline in 2026 to support Foundation enrolments for the 2027 school year.

You can find information and resources about the new timeline, including factsheets, at: Enrolling in Foundation. You can also download the ‘Foundation’ Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers for the 2027 school year’ from the Starting School webpage (available from 20th April 2026).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation 2027 at White Hills Primary School from 20th April 2026.

Application to Enrol in a Victorian Government School – link available after the 20th April 2026

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school office to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (available from 20th April 2026).
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) are due by the last Friday of July, 31 July 2026.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 14 August 2026. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 28 August 2026.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026.
  6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 28th January 2027.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31th July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Foundation Information Evening Dates

Education Week 2027 Prep Parent Information Session

Tuesday 19th May 2026 – 2 sessions

  • Morning: 9.15 -10.00am
  • Evening: 6.00 – 6.45pm

This session will be run by the school leadership team and will highlight our school programs, resources, and approach to education. You will have a guided tour through the school by our student leaders and members of the leadership team.

Parent Information Session

  • Tuesday 4th August 2026 – 6.00 pm -7.00 pm

This session will provide more specific information about developing school readiness for your child, along with helpful tips to support them as they prepare for their important schooling journey. Child minding is available if required.

Foundation Orientation Program Dates

Familiarisation Session 1 (students attend one of these sessions)

  • Tuesday 3rd November 2026 – 12.15 pm – 1.45 pm or
  • Thursday 5th November 2026 – 12.15 pm – 1.45 pm

Familiarisation Session 2 (students attend one of these sessions)

  • Tuesday 17rd November 2026 – 12.15 pm – 1.45 pm or
  • Thursday 19th November 2026 -12.15 pm – 1.45 pm

State-wide Orientation Day (all enrolled students attend on this day)

  • 8th December 2026 – 12.15 pm – 1.45 pm

Enrolment Requirements

Parents must supply the school with the following items for full enrolment.

  1. A complete full (Available from April 20th 2026)  Enrolment Form
  2. A certified copy of your child’s birth certificate or the original and the school can take a photocopy of it.
    • Birth Certificates can be ordered from the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages
  3. A certified copy of your child’s immunisation certificate or the original and the school can take a photocopy of it
    • Document issued by the Australian Childhood Immunistation Register on completion of their 4 year old vaccine

We encourage families to book a tours through the office – 03 5443 0799. This will provide families with the opportunity to see our school in action.

Our Foundation Transition Coordinator will visit every enrolled student at their kindergarten during Term 4, helping to build strong connections and ensure a smooth and positive start to school.
