Chinese

At WHPS, student learn Chinese in Grades Prep to Grade 6.

Students learn about Chinese culture and cultural understanding. They learn about Chinese celebrations like the Lantern Festival and compare it to Australian culture and celebrations.

Some of the topics they cover during lessons includes: learning vocabulary on topics such as numbers, councting in Chinese, family members and pronouns, the origin of the Chinese zodiac and the legend of the monster Nian.

Our students have been learning how to write common Chinese characters.
